Junior Porting Programmer

In-Office

We are looking for a programmer with strong Unity and C# fundamentals to take on porting projects across a variety of development teams, both internal and external to Serenity Forge. While you do not have to have console porting experience, you must be willing to work independently and diligently to ensure that projects run smoothly on both a technical level and in compliance with many of the consoles’ certification requirements. You will be working alongside the Porting Programmer.

Due to the nature of the role’s involvement with development kits, we are looking for someone who can join us at our office in Broomfield, Colorado.

For US-based applicants:

  • $40K - $60K annual salary, based on experience and skillset
  • All Standard Federal holidays + company shut down period at Christmas & Thanksgiving

Role Responsibilities

  • Port titles to major consoles(PS5, Xbox Series, Nintendo Switch and Switch 2) and/or mobile platforms (iOS, Android) alongside partner developers, external porting staff, and QA staff
  • Co-developing console-specific features such as trophies, haptics, touch-screen capabilities, adaptive triggers, etc.
  • Increase internal efficiency of porting processes through proactive development of internal porting tools
  • Coordinate with both internal and external development teams to ensure that potential console roadblocks are addressed as early as possible
  • Independently and accurately discover resources and tools throughout the PlayStation, Nintendo Switch, Xbox, App Store, and Google Play developer ecosystems in order to learn and execute platform requirements while porting

Required Skills and Experience

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to self-motivate and discover console documentation and tools independently
  • Strong background in programming

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Prior professional experience in porting commercially released Unity games to PS5, Xbox Series, and/or Nintendo Switch
  • Shipped at least one commercially developed games that were released on a console

Bookkeeper (Part time)

In-Office or Remote

Reporting to the Finance and Operations Manager, the Bookkeeper will be responsible for maintaining the payment and bookkeeping operations of the business. The ideal candidate will be able to maintain and manage several payment systems throughout the business while communicating with the team at large to ensure all transactions are classified and documented properly. This position requires strong analytical skills, keen attention to detail, and the ability to interpret complex contracts. Experience with financial data and reporting is essential.

  • $20/hr - $30/hr, based on experience and skillset
  • Part Time 25-30hrs per week
  • In Person preferred, Remote options availability
  • All Standard Federal holidays + company shut down period at Christmas & Thanksgiving

Role Responsibilities

  • Maintain the company’s Quickbooks and Bookkeeping operations.
  • Prepare licensor statements on a monthly, quarterly, semi-annually and annual basis, ensuring accuracy and compliance with agreements.
  • Calculate royalties based on sales, expenses, revenue sharing and licensor agreements terms and conditions.
  • Identify and resolve discrepancies in royalty calculations and payments.
  • Tracking and payment of advances, recoupments, reserves, liquidation and revenue sharing allocations and payment schedules.
  • Sending statements to the Developer, Partners, and Licensors and responding to inquiries.
  • Provide direction to partner accounting firm regarding payments, invoicing, account coding.
  • Building, implementing and maintaining tools to help team track payments and expenses.
  • Record incoming and outgoing invoices and payables in Quickbooks

Required Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a business related field.
  • 2 years of experience in bookkeeping, financial analysis, accounting or similar field.
  • 1-2 years of experience using Quickbooks
  • Exceptional financial analysis and reporting skills, with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Strong Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, and Google Suite
  • Experience with Shopify is a plus.
  • Willingness to embrace ambiguity and proactively solve problems in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with the video game industry including knowledge of titles, video game lifecycles, etc
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
